Kevin Schaefer’s kind and compassionate demeanor, balanced with a straight-forward approach, makes him one of the top recovery coaches in the Midwest. His willingness to do whatever it takes to move his clients into recovery is what truly sets him apart.
As a recovery coach and interventionist, Kevin recognizes that addiction is powerful and has no limits. To stay one step ahead, he uses his creativity and tenacity to move clients toward health and happiness. Whether he is practicing yoga on the beach with a client, going for a two-mile run, or accompanying them to a recording studio or on a tour, he is willing to go to any length to support his client’s sobriety.
Kevin began his career in the recovery industry by helping families and their loved ones as an interventionist and recovery coach for one of Milwaukee’s premier ¾ sober living houses.
Kevin’s ability to quickly develop rapport with clients is due to the fact that Kevin “has been there.” A recovering alcoholic and addict himself, Kevin learned to respect the disease of addiction through his own personal battle into recovery. With a “tough love” approach, Kevin helps clients take the necessary action that will make an impact in their life.
As a former EMT, he has the ability to remain calm, cool, and collected in high pressure situations. These key attributes lend themselves to be a well sought after crisis interventionist.
Kevin’s passion for recovery is evident and touches all aspects of his life. Whether it’s cognitive behavioral therapy at a business function, or experiential therapy at a recording studio, he incorporates various recovery modalities in his work with clients. Even if it means finding a 12-step group in the middle of an island off the coast of Thailand, he’ll make it happen.
Kevin has traveled extensively throughout Asia, including time spent in a Korean Zen monastery. This has honed his inner strength and compassion for all life. He uses mindfulness meditation, breathing exercises, and yoga to compliment therapy and 12-step groups in the recovery process.
Kevin has been involved with the music industry, in various capacities, since the 90’s. Whether in the studio or on the road Kevin can help.
Kevin really practices what he promotes. He has maintained sobriety for 27 years through a balanced diet, consistent exercise, yoga and meditation, and regular fun on the golf course. Kevin also attributes his long-term sobriety to participating in 12-step recovery groups.Whether you’re struggling to maintain sobriety or in the throes of a relapse, Kevin with his 100% confidentiality commitment can assist you in your recovery.
